Welcome
to proud2serve.net,
a site of resources for the military community on matters of sexuality
and sexual orientation in Her Majesty's Armed Forces. This site
contains resources of use
to
all personnel interested in finding out more about the background
to being gay in the military,
the military and civil law which covers it, and what being proud
to serve actually means.
Want to get out and meet like-minded
people ? Regular socials and informal get-togethers are organised
by proud2serve members in London and the regions of the UK, the Falkland
Islands, Cyprus, Germany, Gibraltar and in operational
theatres.

There are over 175 pages on the main
site, plus many more pages of discussion on the public
forum, with the site attracting over 1.5 million page
views in the first 10 months of 2007. Key areas are
highlighted
below,
the remainder can be accessed via the navigation bar below the
logo and via the quick links on the left side of each page. For
more help finding your way, use the full sitemap or
search the site. All changes to the site
are notified on the updates page.
If you are either serving, or a partner of someone who is, don't
forget to visit and register on the public
forum.
Thank you for your many messages of support -
we have been contacted by serving and ex-serving from all services.
You can now leave a message on our guestbook without
registering.
Lifestyle ::
informal advice and information about the gay lifestyle, about
gender orientation, sexuality, coming out and lifestyle choices
and about equal rights for all. For those unsure about how far
the military have progressed in these things, compare the
way it was.
Links :: a comprehensive
selection covering advice and
help, networking on the Internet and
gay and military news stories.
Partnership ::
a section dedicated to the new landscape of civil
partnership in the United Kingdom, together with key civil
and military references.
Civil
Partnership Act :: the key parts of the act passed by Parliament
in 2004 are here.
Whereas there is no formal armed forces lesbian
and gay association or formal military gay grouping, the proud2serve.net
public forum provides many of the social and informal support
functions that such a body would provide.
Armed Forces
Code of Conduct :: the full text of the overarching defence-wide
Code of Conduct is reproduced here within the Military part
of the Key Documents section.
